Now is a very difficult time. Novel coronavirus came to Russia and the city Ishim, shattering the health and financial well-being of many people. During this time, the Adventist Church’s main focus is not to lose heart and to think about how they can help people around us.
The most needed item in 2020 is a medical mask. Without a mask, you can’t even go to the store. This is especially crucial for older citizens, who are additionally susceptible to the virus. The price for masks, due to high demand, start at 100₽ (US$1.36).
With this in mind, the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Ishim (Russia) decided to provide charitable help to the townspeople by organizing the sewing of masks. After two weeks of hard work, 170 reusable masks were ready to be distributed.
The pastor of the Ishim Adventist Church contacted the city administration to find out where masks are especially needed, as in the Tyumen region they introduced a mask requirement on May 6.
As a result, the masks were delivered to the Ishim Development Center, where volunteers help older people in isolation, and some of the masks were given to Ishim Cossacks. Reusable masks will be delivered to people in need so that they can maintain their health.
