Dr Darren Morton is booked to appear on national breakfast television program Today on Channel 9 in Australia tomorrow (Wednesday) between 7.45 and 9 am. He will be talking about the ideas behind his new book, Live More Happy, launched last month at Avondale College of Higher Education. Dr Morton is coordinator of postgraduate courses in lifestyle medicine at Avondale College and a founding fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
This TV appearance is part of a media campaign in support of his new book, but also an extension of his goal to lift 10 million people with its message of wholistic wellbeing. “I am simply trying to give people strategies to live happier,” he explains. “We live in a world today in which many people are struggling. At the same time, there are many evidenced-based proven strategies to feel better, yet these are remarkably unknown and practised even less.”
This morning, Dr Morton took his message to ABC local radio breakfast programs in Newcastle and Hobart (interview begins at 6:58: http://www.abc.net.au/radio/hobart/programs/breakfast/breakfast/9491464). He has also done a number of interviews for print media, with more radio and television opportunities planned in the next few weeks.
Dr Morton says the interest he has received from interviews has been very strong. “When they get a glimpse of what we are talking about, people seem to get very passionate very quickly about this material,” he said.
