On the Sabbath 34 people were baptised.

Members of Madang Town Adventist Church camped at the Madang Manus Mission headquarters at Bilia Point (Papua New Guinea) from November 16-18 to reflect on their achievements in the past 10 months and to make plans for 2019.

Mission president Pastor Garry Laukei was the guest speaker for the weekend camp. He challenged the attendees to concentrate on the Church’s mission to make disciples. He said no-one should be sitting idle in the church. Rather, everyone should be involved in disciple-making.

The Sabbath program was special as 34 people were baptised by Pastor Laukei. There was joy in the camp as different singing groups gave praise to God and the new believers testified as to how they were led to accept Jesus as their Saviour and to join the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Madang Town church is one of the largest churches in Madang Manus Mission, with 988 baptised members and a number of “hand churches” (church plants).

In his closing remarks, Pastor Laukei thanked the church for coming up with their activity plan for 2019. He also thanked the leaders for bringing together all the members. He encouraged all the hand churches to follow the strategies developed by the Madang Town church so that the churches can achieve their goals of making more disciples before the end of the quinqennium.
