Every Church Member has a Part to Play :Adventist News Online

T he Three Angels Messages found in Revelation 14:6-12 is so foundational to the Seventh-day Adventist Church that it is a part of the Church’s mission statement. This year’s Annual Council included the presentation of the Three Angels Messages Project, a project focused on encouraging and empowering the spreading of the Three Angels Messages by every church member and department of the world church.

The Importance of the Project

Special Assistant to the president, and former vice-president of the global Adventist Church, Mike Ryan, is serving as the chair of the Three Angels Messages Project Committee and began the presentation by acknowledging that the Adventist Church has an “excitement that surrounds the proclamation of the Three Angels Messages, and rightfully so as we have [been raised] up to proclaim this message.” Ryan emphasized that it is important to have a consistent, very clear, biblical definition of the messages. As such, to provide a blueprint for the Church, Angel Rodriguez, former director of the Biblical Research Institute (BRI) of the global Adventist Church, presented a most compelling message outlining the prophetic definition of the Three Angels Messages.

Rodriguez began his presentation by reminding listeners that, “The sacrifice of Christ as an atonement for sin is the great truth around which all other truths cluster. In order to be rightly understood and appreciated, every truth in the Word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, must be studied in the light that streams from the cross of Calvary.” —Evangelism, page 190. Rodriguez urged that the Three Angel’s Messages are all about the gospel, the lamb of God being sacrificed for the redemption of the human race.

The First Angels Message

“…Fear God and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” – Revelation 14:7
