New Partnership Provides WAU Psychology Students with Affordable Path to Doctorate

Takoma Park, MD (September 29, 2015) A new partnership agreement forged between Washington Adventist University in Maryland and Argosy University in Virginia will provide psychology students with an affordable path to earning their doctorate degree. The agreement includes discounted tuition at Argosy for students who earn their master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Washington Adventist University.
 
The partnership agreement was initiated by Argosy University President David Erekson, Ph.D., and Argosy Counseling Department Chair Simone Lambert, Ph.D. when they noticed that the graduates from Washington Adventist University who had entered their psychology doctoral programs demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skills in their field. As a result, Washington Adventist University graduates who have earned a 60-hour clinical mental health counseling degree (M.A.) are encouraged to consider furthering their psychology education by seeking admission at one of the Argosy University doctoral psychology programs.
 
“We are extremely pleased with this partnership, as it provides external validation that our professors and adjuncts are providing exceptional educational instruction,” said Grant Leitma, Ph.D., and chair of Washington Adventist University’s Department of Psychology. “This partnership also gives our psychology students a clear path to earning their doctorate at another affordable educational institution in the area.”
