Seventh-day Adventist Church Presidents Statement on END IT NOW

Every day, thousands of innocent people around the world—many of them children—experience abuse. Abuse comes in many forms—domestic violence, rape, child sexual abuse, human trafficking, female genital mutilation (FGM), and many other horrific forms.

As Seventh-day Adventists, we condemn abuse in all of its forms and embrace the healing ministry of Jesus “to preach the gospel to the poor . . . to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives . . . To set at liberty those who are oppressed . . .” (Luke 4:18-19, NKJV).

enditnow” is a global initiative developed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to raise awareness and advocate for the end of violence around the world. The initiative was launched in 2009 in partnership between the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and the Department of Women’s Ministries at the General Conference.

Sadly, abuse cuts across all countries, people groups, and denominations, including the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The enditnow initiative seeks to increase personal awareness, responsibility, and involvement to effectively help end violence in every family and community.

As president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, I urge Seventh-day Adventists around the world to acquaint themselves with the materials available at www.enditnow.org, and to host an enditnow event at their local church to bring awareness and to share solutions on ways to end this global problem.

I also encourage you to watch and share the following video messages from myself and my wife Nancy regarding what we can do together to help enditnow.

Ted N.C. Wilson, President
