The coronavirus pandemic has changed the way of life for everyone. Many events around the world have been canceled or postponed to other dates, but not so at Zaoksky University in Tula Oblast, Russia.
On June 12 and 13, the university held graduation ceremonies online, and anyone could join the live broadcast and feel like part of the general celebration. Despite all the restrictions, diplomas were issued on Friday, even if it was in an unusual form.
The director of the EAD education department, Ivan Ivanovich Ryapolov, addressed everyone with words of edification, urging them to constantly reevaluate their values and priorities, and to turn their eyes to the people around them, refusing their own vanity, learning to show love for those around them.
This year, the title of “Student of the Year” was awarded to two students at once: Married couple Christian and Angelina Raimera. Teacher of the Year was awarded to Petrishcheva Svetlana Ilinichna, head of the program of Continuing Education in Intensive English.
During the Sabbath service, the traditional scripture transmission from the graduates of the Theology program to third-year students and future graduates took place, which symbolizes the transfer of the values and principles of Zaoksky University, where the Word of God is the foundation of everything.
And at the end of the festivities, Velgosha Ivan Ilyich, president of the West Russian Union, congratulated all the graduates and invited them to use their knowledge in the service of God and people.
