Hello Brothers and Sisters,

What a joy to greet you on this special Sabbath, as we celebrate 10 years of public campus ministry, also known as PCM. This coincides with our church celebrating 150 years of mission.  What an appropriate time for us not only to reflect on this ministry, but to look forward with renewed vision and purpose.

In every church there are young men and women who study in non-Adventist universities. With the hectic pace and unique challenges in the university environments and in the cities, these students are called to be ambassadors of Jesus, to be agents of change, sharing God’s transformative power, both on their campuses and in their communities.

The theme that has been chosen is “My city, my mission.” This is a firm declaration to take on the key role of impacting the small and large cities, so that their inhabitants may come to know Christ.

In Jeremiah 29:7, God gave a similar instruction to the people of Israel through the prophet: “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Like the people of that time, we are also in captivity in this world, but by preaching to others, we too will have peace.

Let us all unite in this prayer with our young men and women in the universities, and may this day strengthen our commitment to the mission.

Maranatha.
